Our training is fun and gives you the immediate experience of doing the things you are learning. Our techniques are based on the many ways that adults prefer to learn.

In addition to our own courses, OPM Experts supports the Project Management Institute on certain course offerings. PMI offers an OPM3 ProductSuite Assessor Course and an OPM3 ProductSuite Consultant Course.

Assessor Course


Course description:

The OPM3® Assessor training will cover the methodology of performing the OPM3 assessments with the aid of the OPM3 Assessment Tool. You will be trained in how to use the tool and to gain experience in using the tool. For this purpose we have designed a highly interactive training course. You will be trained in scoping and tailoring an assessment to the needs of the organization you are going to assess, you will be made familiar with the planning process (also for multiple assessor and/or multiple location assessments), and you will practice the preparation you need to perform before you start an assessment.

A majority of the exercises you will be doing are based on a case study company, approaching real live situations as closely as possible, enabling you to gain real experience in assessing with this tool. Entering your assessment data into the OPM3 Assessment tool as well as generating the reports from the assessment tool are included in the training.

Course Objectives

After completing the course participants:

Will be able to use the OPM3 assessment tool, to determine the degree of organizational project management maturity. Ability to use the tool will be demonstrated by successfully employing the tool during a case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to perform a client’s need assessment to determine the client’s requirements and expectations with respect to the assessment an will have the ability to scope the assessment using these inputs. Results of previous assessments as well as the results of previous Self Assessments, using SAM as performed by the client can be part of this input.

Will understand the structure and format of the Tool apply the methodology. Ability to apply the tool will be demonstrated by successfully using the tool during a case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to conduct an OPM3 assessment according to the OPM3 Assessment methodology, including the preparation, planning and performance of the assessment. Role-plays will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to collect and assess objective evidence of organizational project management maturity. Through the review of documentation, interviewing key personnel and observing practices. Ability to gather objective evidence will be demonstrated by successfully reporting on the results of the assessment as part of the role-play exercises / case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to use the OPM3 assessment tool to generate an assessment report with the results of the assessment and have the ability to interpret the enabling the assessor to present the outcome of the assessment to the client in a comprehensive way, ensuring the client understands and acknowledges the results. Ability to generate a report and present it will be demonstrated by successfully reporting on the results of the assessment as part of the close-out role-play exercises which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to upload the results of the assessment into the Assessment Data Base.

As a participants you will be subject to a continuous assessment monitoring your behavior, attitude and skills. Together with the multiple choice examination at the end of the course this continuous assessment will be part of your formal qualification process. Passing this qualification process will earn you the title PMI Certified OPM3 Assessor, enabling you to purchase a license to use the OPM3 Assessment tool.


Consultant Course



Course description:

The OPM3® improvement training will cover the methodology of improving organizational project management maturity using the OPM3 improvement tool. You will be trained in how to use the tool and gain experience in using this valuable tool. For this purpose we have designed a highly interactive training course. The results of the assessment of the case study from the OPM3 assessor training will form the starting point for the exercises using the OPM3 improvement tool. With the aid of this tool you will learn how to translate the organization's needs for improvement in a tangible improvement plan. You will be able to explore the assessment results generated by the assessment tool from all possible angles to unveil opportunities for improvement available to the organization you are assisting in this process. This will enable you to design a comprehensive improvement plan tailored to the specific improvement needs of the organization you are assisting. The training will take you through all the different levels of information available to you as a consultant using the OPM3 improvement tool.

Course Objectives

Ability to use the tool will be demonstrated by successfully employing the tool during a case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to perform a client’s need assessment to determine the client’s requirements and expectations with respect to the improvement process and will have the ability to input these requirements into the tool, including the results of previous OPM3 assessments.

Will be able to interpret the structure, format and content found in the improvement tool sections. Ability to interpret the tool will be demonstrated by successfully employing the tool during a case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to prepare an OPM3 improvement plan, in a correct manner with the help of the OPM3 improvement tool.

Will be able to collect and assess the available data. Through the review of the available data as part of a case study which will be part of the training process and will be rated as part of the continuous assessment process.

Will be able to use the OPM3 improvement tool to generate an improvement report with the valuable input for the organization to work on and to be able to present the outcome to the organization in a comprehensive manner.
