Future of Work Summit at Mountain Quest Institute
May 2010 - OPM Experts LLC will participate in a summit with others from the US government, academia, and affiliated organizations to discuss Organizational Project Management and the future of work in the 21st century. The summit will occur in June 2010. Included are MQI, Emory's Goizueta Business School, the Science and Technology Policy Institute, and Evidence Based Research (EBR).
Participants will explore new organization structures, and how they are created, made capable, controlled, or destroyed, and the role of technology in this context. How are members of such organizations programmable, targetable, or subject to influence? What, if anything, can we learn from how 21st century transnational activities (from insurgency movements to distributed cyber-attackers) organize themselves and adaptively respond, and are there factors that legitimate businesses and government organizations could learn? What are the organizational routines and scenarios employed in these structures to produce agility, and can these be assessed and developed?
The Mountain Quest Institute (MQI) is a research, retreat and conference center (both business and academic) on 450 acres (1.8 km2) located in West Virginia, in the Allegheny Mountains of the United States, within the National Radio Quiet Zone.
