Hong Kong SAR Government Sponsors OPM3® Workshop by OPM Experts, LLC OPM3® standards from the Project Management Institute (PMI®) designed to help organizations to choose the right projects and to deliver those projects successfully were the subject of a workshop sponsored last month by the Hong Kong SAR Government. May 3, 2004--New OPM3® standards from the Project Management Institute (PMI® ) designed to help organizations to choose the right projects and to deliver those projects successfully were the subject of a workshop sponsored last month by the Hong Kong SAR Government. The PMI® Hong Kong Chapter assembled a group of chapter members and project professionals to undergo comprehensive training in the new PMI® OPM3® standard in order to evaluate the OPM3® theory, assessment process, and practicalities of implementing OPM3®. Developed by hundreds of professionals in industry and government in 35 countries, the PMI® 's OPM3® standard is a maturity model that explains best practices for selecting and managing projects in a way that supports strategic goals. Through an assessment using the OPM3® standard, an organization's current capability profile or level of maturity is identified, as well as next steps for becoming more capable. The OPM3® workshop was led by John Schlichter, who led the development of OPM3® for several years before launching OPM Experts, LLC (http://www.opmexperts.com), a firm that is developing tools to make OPM3® implementation user friendly. |
